The Middletown Fire Protection maintains a fleet of more than 15 vehicles. They range from a 1990 Ford F-350 vehicle to a 2003 Pierce Quantum.

Scroll down through the pictures below to learn more about some of our firefighting equipment!

Engine 9935

(2003 Pierce Quantum)

This apparatus was also built by Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, Wisconsin. This apparatus differs from the other apparatus in the fact that it is a Heavy Rescue Pumper on a Quantum chassis. It is equipped with a wide array of specialty rescue equipment to accommodate a plethora of emergency situations such as auto accidents, confine space, Haz-mat, high angle, as well as fire suppression. It is normally staffed 24 hours a day with 4 firefighters at our Station #1.

Equipment includes: Single stage 1500 GPM Hale Pump, Foam-Pro System 2002 with a 20-gallon on-board Class A foam tank, and a 30-gallon on-board Class B foam tank, a 750-gallon water tank, 65' of ground ladders, 1000' 5-inch hose, 600' 3-inch hose, 850' 1 3/4 hose, 2 electric cord reels, Genesis Hydraulic Rescue Tools, an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), Survivair SCBAs, 15 KW PTO On-Board Generator, Light Tower, Medical supplies, Air Bags, Air Cart, Confine Space Equip, PPV Fan, and a vent saw.

Tele-Squirt 9953

(2001 Pierce Quantum)

This apparatus was also built by Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, Wisconsin, and is very similiar to Quint 9951. This truck has a shorter 61' aerial ladder which can be remotely controlled to allow the operator better visibility of the area while maneuvering in tight spots. It is normally staffed 24 hours a day with 3 firefighters at our Station #3.

Equipment includes: 1500 GPM Waterous, Foam-Pro System with a 30-gallon on-board foam tank, a 720-gallon water tank, 100' of ground ladders, 800' 5-inch hose, 600' 3-inch hose, 850' 1 3/4 hose, 2 electric cord reels, Genesis Hydraulic Rescue Tools, an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), Survivair SCBAs, 10 KW PTO On-Board Generator, Medical supplies, PPV Fan, and a vent saw.

Engines 9931,33,34

(1994 and 1995 KME)

These 3 Engine Companies were purchased in 1994 and 1995. They are all built nearly identical and cost approximately $234,000 each. All three Engine Companies are Volunteer/Reserve pieces. 9934 is housed at Station #1 and 9931 is housed at Station #2, and 9933 is housed at Station #3 for volunteer and 40-hour personnel response use.

Equipment includes: 1500 GPM Hale Fire Pump, a 500 gallon water tank, ground ladders, 1000' 5-inch hose, 600' 3-inch hose, 850' 1 3/4 hose, Genesis Hydraulic Rescue Tools, an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), Survivair SCBAs, Winch, On-Board Generator, Medical supplies, PPV Fan, and a vent saw.

The Field Unit 9971

(1990 Ford F350 4x4)

Responding from Station #1, this field/brush unit was refitted with a "Mertz Fire Cracker" skid tank and pump in 2001. THe truck was set up to go where the larger apparatus can't, off road, and provide a solid firefighting punch once it arrived. It's pump supplies two hose reels with about 500 PSI and 7 GPM from the 250 gallon water tank. This relatively low flow allows the fireghters to stay and fight for longers periods of time than they had ever been able to before.

Equipment includes: Chain saw, rakes, shovels, swatters, and a winch.
