Our Chaplain serves both our members and the public by seeing to people's emotional needs. One of his most valuable assets to the District is his training in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), or the process of helping our members deal with particularly terrible events or scenes.

Administrative Assistant
An invaluable part of our organization, the Administrative Assistant, handles much of the "business" side of the Fire Department. She makes sure the bills are paid, the employees are paid, and handles many, many other tasks.

The Assistant Chief is responsible for all employees on the 24/48 shift crews as well as all Volunteer members. He also handles various other duties as necessary.

Division Chief/ Fire Prevention (Fire Marshall)

Division Sergeants
Each Division Chief has a Sergeant assigned to him to assist with the work of the Division.

Volunteer Captain
Volunteer Captains are the highest ranking volunteer personnel on the Department. It is their responsibility to manage a crew of firefighters on an emergency scene and from time to time they respond directly to emergency scenes to act the incident commander.

Career Captain/ Lieutenant
Career Officers work a 24/48 shift and manage a crew consisting of a Sergeant and 2 Firefighters. On the fireground they direct the actions of their crews and sometimes fill other roles in the Incident Management System. The Officer is also responsible for assuring that all work assignments are completed including fire inspections, training, fire hydrant testing, and much more.

Volunteer Sergeant
Sergeants are normally the apparatus drivers. Their main focus is knowing the fire trucks inside and out, getting the crew to the scene safely, and operating the truck once there. They also fill-in for officers when one is not available.

Career Sergeant
Career Sergeant's have the same responsibilities as listed above for their Volunteer counterparts. The only difference is that the career personnel work a 24/48 shift and have some management responsibility for the Firefighters on the crew.

Volunteer Firefighters
Volunteer Firefighters respond from their homes to staff the fire apparatus and perform tasks assigned by their officers. Many are also certified apparatus operators and fill in for Sergeants when one is not available.

Career Firefighters
Career Firefighters work a 24/48 shift and do many jobs, from keeping the Stations clean to performing Fire Inspections. On the fire scene they perform duties assigned by their Officers.

Recruit
A recruit's job is to learn. Recruits follow a well tested course of study in all aspects of the fire service. After a period of a few months they are eligible to begin riding out on the apparatus to get hands-on experience while being closely supervised by veteran professionals.
